his week, Matt and Courtney talk with young learners from Marcia Buker Elementary School in Richmond, ME. They talk about a project they just completed, with the driving question "How do we/doctors know what is going on inside of us?" These two young men researched about pill cams and x-rays, built a model of the digestive system using clear tubes, water bottles, and foam board. They also talk about how they were setting goals, making reflections, asking for advice, etc. Seems like a lot of guiding principles in action!
This week, Matt & Courtney talk about the importance of bringing learners into the conversation by talking WITH them, not AT them. This could mean anything from goal setting, to behavior charts, to codes of cooperation, to anything, really. This also means adult learners at every level, be it staff meetings, professional development opportunities, or community meetings. Talk WITH them, not AT them.
